ARCA's New Investment in Sungurlu

Established Turkey's first C4 explosive factory. Rockets and heavy-caliber ammunition will be produced.

ARCA DEFENSE ESTABLISHED ITS SECOND SMALL ARMS PRIMER FACTORY IN SUNGURLU

Arca Defense, which established Turkey’s second small arms primer factory in the Sungurlu Organized Industrial Zone, has expanded its product range by not only producing rockets and heavy-caliber ammunition but also by establishing Turkey’s first C4 plastic explosive factory. Ismail Terlemez, Chairman of Arca Defense, told our Editorial Director Recep Şeyhoğlu that the small arms primer factory, whose foundation was laid by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on August 13, 2022, was completed in a short time and has started serial production.

Ismail Terlemez stated that the factory, established on 1 million square meters in the OSB, has an annual production capacity of 1.2 billion small arms primers and added, “In addition to small arms primers, we have set up production lines for heavy-caliber ammunition. We have started test production of artillery and mortar ammunition, with an annual capacity of 144,000 units. We have also established a rocket production line, producing 122 mm artillery rockets with an annual capacity of 24,000 units. We have set up a plastic explosive C4 production line, which is Turkey’s first C4 factory. We have started test production of all these, and we plan to move to serial production in the near future.”

WE WILL SOURCE RAW MATERIALS FROM SUNGURLU

Ismail Terlemez noted that currently, raw materials are sourced from various locations, but once the Gold Force Powder Factory established in Sungurlu OSB is fully operational, all raw materials will be sourced from there. Terlemez added that, as per agreements, all production is currently being sent abroad, but they have the capacity to meet domestic demand if it arises.

Emphasizing that all safety measures have been taken at the factory, Ismail Terlemez stated, “All production at the factories is automated, with only inspections conducted by personnel. Our machinery park consists entirely of new, state-of-the-art 2023 model machines. We are taking all the measures required by the laws, as well as additional measures based on our experiences. There is no reason for anyone to worry; there is no doubt about safety at the factories.”
